JBiA Hit The Highlands
by peedie feeties, posted 15/05/08 05:40:39
As is traditonal once a year, JBiA will be taking to the highlands for a short, 3-day tour in early July (check Events for dates). Joining us, is none other than SuperElvis himself, alt-country singer-songwriter, Linton Osborne ("emits the sexual charisma of Elvis Presley and the country cool of Cash" - Edinburgh Evening News), who will be doing some stand-up comedy in an Elvis style as well as performing songs from his own album, Pigeonhole. The only unsigned artist to sell out Carnegie Hall in Dunfermline, it would be worth coming along just to hear him. Also coming along for the ride is Orcadian saxophonist, Auriol Hodgson, and BBC 2006 Traditional Musician of the Year, Shona Mooney, who will be playing the fiddle at some point.
Apart from our two songs on nessmp3, you can here more from us, and the others, here:
Met at a piano bar in Edinburgh's West End. Rehearsed next door to a sex shop, and recorded some music using Page & Plant Gold discs to prop up our amplifiers. Now have a fudge maker in our ranks from Rome, don't use bass (it would only get in the way), and once convinced one-time Average White Band drummer Paul Mills that we were the "funkiest band since Hendrix". His words, not ours. The story continues to groove...
